Not perfect but better than most
I've had this phone for 2 months, replacing an old Panasonic cordless. Very lightweight and compact. I don't like the fact that the answering machine doesn't have a message counter on it, but I've learned to live with that short coming. We usually let the phone ring long enough to hear it announce the name of the caller- that can be amusing at sometimes! I guess in addition to being a good phone, it's also a source of cheap entertainment. Bottom line is, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks and I'd recommend this phone to anyone who is looking for a multi handset system for their home.

Great home office phone
As the title suggests, I purchased this phone for my home office. Overall, I am very satisfied with it. However, there are two negatives. First, there's no voice mail indicator light on the base. Secondly, the voice mail indicator that is on the handset is only visible if the top end of the phone is pointing towards you. They should have made the indicator larger and wrapped it up and over the top edge of the phone. Other than those two minor issues I highly recommend this phone.

great features, too bad the phone didn't work
I used this phone for three weeks and in that time it routinely dropped calls, caused the person at the other end to stop hearing me though I couldn't tell there was a problem and then the handsets started shutting off mid call...all three of them! I kept waiting for it to be a bug that would work out, I moved the base, kept the phones in the chargers more and then less. Finally when all 3 handsets cut out while I was trying to talk to another cust. service dept, and I managed to stop myself from throwing the whole thing out the window. I packed it up to go back. I wish it had worked, I like the talking caller ID, and the call block, among other things. I went back to Vtech, which I have had very good luck with and I'm very happy with the CS612932.

Inadequate range
This phone had some major inadequacies, one that was a deal breaker, and several that were big disadvantages compared to the phone it was supposed to replace. The deal breaker was that the handset in my bedroom was out of range from the base in the living room. This has never been a problem with any other phone I've had, so I don't think it's inherent in the house, which is about 3,000 sq. ft. That makes me think it probably wouldn't reach outside either, which my other phone did fine. Other disadvantages compared to the other phone: the digital numbers were difficult to read, not only because of their rather primitive configuration but also because of the orange background and the light gray print; there was no full color; the only readout was in the handset, i.e., there was no additional readout on the base itself so if the handset is somewhere else, you can't see who is calling; there is no indication of whether there are messages or how many there are (you have to push "messages" to find out); there was no voice announcement of the incoming call's number, which is really handy when you're across the room from the phone. So I'm sending the phone back and looking for one just like the one I'm replacing, which, by the way, has finally started acting weird after about eight years of use. All in all, though, this phone seems to work fine except for the things I've mentioned, but if you have a large house, I definitely would not recommend it because of the range problem.

Drops calls
This phone drops calls. I read the reviews of the Bluetooth version that said it dropped calls, so I bought the non-bluetooth version, and it drops calls as well. Going back to my KX-TG5432.

Bye-Bye KX-TGA1 series
I have found the KX-TGA expandable DECT 6.0 series is an excellent product, once I determined that dialing a phone card number, followed by a phone card pin, followed by a phone number - all from the phone book require the use of the OK button and NOT the TALK button.

Be aware Panasonic is replacing this series with the new KX-TG63 series.
The big box chain American Furniture & Electronics closed out the KX-TGA expandable DECT 6.0 series on Black Friday at 1/2 price. That is for answering machine and 2 handsets.
